Deliberate Startup Method

From – https://www.reforge.com/finding-product-market-fit

Consists of 4 steps

DEFINING THE PRODUCT/MARKET FIT NARRATIVE

VALIDATING RISKIEST HYPOTHESES

MEASURING PRODUCT/MARKET FIT

GROWING USERS

Generally, this seems to make sense, its more deliberate than Lean startup (duh), with more emphasis on insight and thoughtful consideration of the context of facts, as opposed to AB testing your way to success. Consequently, its a more efficient method for early stage product development, more specifically pre-product stage. Whereas lean startup would be more suited as a growth methodology focused at the post-product launch stage.

I like the concept of validating the riskiest hypothesis first, that makes a lot of sense since that would help to determine the viability and profitability of the business far sooner.

At the very least its more nuanced than the build-measure-learn framework of Lean Startup. – but as you can see the 4 steps of Deliberate Startup method are not in conflict with Lean Startup, the first two steps defining PMF narrative and validating hypothesis occur a the build and measure stages, measuring PMF occurs at the learn stage.

I exclude grow users since that a lagging objective of both methods and is a result of strategies rather than an action in-of-itself.
